GGTech hires a PG Esports’ BDM to boost its expansion in Europe

  • Simone Gambardella joins the company to further its international expansion.

GGTech Entertainment, an international company dedicated to the organisation and management of products related to entertainment, technology, gaming and esports, announces the incorporation of Simone Gambardella as EU Account Director with the aim of strengthening the group’s expansion starting from Italy and covering the European market.

GGTech is a company operating in many countries in Europe, North America, South America, Middle East and North Africa, dedicated to the development of entertainment, leisure and educational events through gaming and esports. 

In Italy, the company develops UNIVERSITY Esports, the project that combines education and esports, involving more than 100,000 students from 26 countries.

A recruit with extensive experience in esports

Simone Gambardella has been working in the gaming and esports ecosystem for more than 10 years. 

In 2012 he co-founded the University Esports Series, the first Italian esports organisation dedicated to students, which is now part of GGTech’s UNIVERSITY Esports competition. He then worked at Legacy, one of the most important Italian entertainment companies, making his first experiences developing gaming products.

His most recent experience was 6 years at PG Esports, the main organiser of esports competitions in Italy, as a Business Development Manager, where he gained expertise in sales and business strategies in the Italian and European market. 

The Italian esports market is one of the most important in Europe. After Spain and Poland, it is the country with the highest percentage of the population consuming esports. According to a report by the Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association, more than 1,600,000 people claimed to watch esports events at least once a week in 2022. Of these, 475,000 claimed to consume esports events on a daily basis.
