The University of Insubria hosted the first stop of the UNIVERSITY Tour in Italy, a European event dedicated to university students organized by UNIVERSITY Esports by Predator. More than 1,000 visitors attended the area set up at the Atrium of the Monte Generoso Pavilion, Faculty of Economics, Varese.
Participants were attracted by the many activities carried out at the University of Insubria throughout the UNIVERSITY Tour. The goals of this event were to bring gaming and immersive entertainment to university communities and to raise awareness of the largest esports competition in the university environment, while showcasing the job opportunities offered by the emerging video game industry.

UNIVERSITY Esports by Predator is a grassroots esports organiser operated by GGTech Entertainment and ProGaming Italia. This season, the project is supported by leading brands such as Predator, Intel, and Samsung Electronics Italia.
What did students find during the UNIVERSITY Tour?
The first stop of the UNIVERSITY Tour offered a unique experience to visitors. The entire area was designed as a space for learning and entertainment, where technology and gaming came together to create a memorable episode. Throughout the day, official project gadgets were distributed, eagerly welcomed by the students. Additionally, The event also introduced the competition format, encouraging participants to join future editions.
Visitors were able to test their in-game skills and play with friends during the UNIVERSITY Tour. UNIVERSITY Esports by Predator enabled PC stations Kovaak’s Trainer, a software designed to enhance precision and responsiveness in gaming. Moreover, PlayStation 5 stations featuring VALORANT were also available to try out the new version of the Riot Games’ shooter games for console.

The video game ecosystem is a source of employment for young talent. According to a study conducted by IIDEA (Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association) with data to 2022, 86% of employees in the Italian video game industry are under 36 years old.

In Italy, gaming has extraordinary potential: it is an industry worth 2.2 billion euros and is transforming from emerging realities into solid small and medium-sized businesses.
