- ‘Sapienza’ vs ‘UniPizza’ and ‘IMPACT Unina’ vs ‘PesiGod’ will be the clashs to determine the new champions in VALORANT and League of Legends, respectively
The best college teams will battle this weekend to be crowned the new national champions of UNIVERSITY Esports. The premier esports competition between universities across Italy will hold its Split 2 Grand Finals. ‘Sapienza’ (University of Sapienza) and ‘UniPizza’ (University of Pisa) will face in VALORANT, and ‘IMPACT Unina’ (University of Naples Federico II) will seek the victory against ‘PesiGod’ (Polytechnic University of Milan) in League of Legends.
The decisive showdowns to determine the champions of the UNIVERSITY Esports Split 2 will take place this weekend: VALORANT (5th April) and League of Legends (6th April). Both matches will be streamed at the same time (5:00 pm) on the official Twitch channel of the competition (twitch.tv/uniesports_it).
The Split 1 revalidation
The matches at the upcoming Grand Finals will be the same as in the previous Split. The current finalists will compete with different perspectives, but with a shared goal: to emerge victorious. Both ‘Sapienza’ and ‘IMPACT Unina’ will try to defend their reigning crown in VALORANT and League of Legends, respectively. In doing so, they will need to beat players of ‘UniPizza’ and ‘PesiGod’, who are eager to take away their position as champions.
Beyond competition
UNIVERSITY Esports, a grassroots esports organiser in Italy operated by GGTech Entertainment and ProGaming Italia, is about much more than just online competition, and also plays a big role in fostering communities and providing career opportunities and education. During the 2024/25 season, the initiative is supported by Samsung Electronics Italia and Riot Games.UNIVERSITY Tour, an in-person series of events aimed at raising awareness of the esports community and building real-life connections between players, has returned during the Split 2 of UNIVERSITY Esports. The city of Rome will host a couple of stops of this initiative this week. Hundreds of students from the UniCamillus International Medical University and the Link Campus University will engage about the benefits of participating in the esports community both professionally and to have fun.
