Students of the University of Milano-Bicocca to play and discover the benefits of gaming during the UNIVERSITY Tour

The University of Milano-Bicocca will host a stop of the UNIVERSITY Tour, organised by UNIVERSITY Esports. The premier esports tour at universities across Italy will bring a wide range of gaming activities for students in an unique and attractive landscape, allowing them to explore a world of opportunities and advantages in the video game industry. 

Students and academic staff from the University of Milano-Bicocca will be able to enjoy the stop of the UNIVERSITY Tour on this Friday, 11th April, from 9:00 am at the U6-Agorà Building.

UNIVERSITY Esports is a grassroots esports organiser operated by GGTech Entertainment and ProGaming Italia. This season, the project is supported by leading brands such as Samsung Electronics Italia and Riot Games.

What will students find during the UNIVERSITY Tour?

UNIVERSITY Tour is aimed to bring gaming and immersive entertainment to university communities and to raise awareness of the largest esports competition in the university environment, while showcasing the job opportunities offered by the emerging video game industry.

The stop of the UNIVERSITY Tour at the University of Milano-Bicocca will offer a unique experience to visitors. The entire area will be designed as a space for learning and entertainment, where technology and gaming come together to create a memorable episode. Throughout the day, official project gadgets will be distributed, eagerly welcomed by the students. Additionally, the event will also introduce the competition format, encouraging participants to join the ongoing esports tournaments.

Students will be able to test their in-game skills and play with friends during the UNIVERSITY Tour. UNIVERSITY Esports will enable PC stations Kovaak’s Trainer, a software designed to enhance precision and responsiveness in gaming. Moreover, PlayStation 5 stations featuring VALORANT will be also available to try out the new version of the Riot Games’ shooter games for console.

The growth of video games in Italy and its impact on youth employment

The video game ecosystem is a source of employment for young talent. According to a study conducted by IIDEA (Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association) with data to 2022, 86% of employees in the Italian video game industry are under 36 years old.

Video games represent one of the fastest growing entertainment sectors globally, with revenues exceeding those of music and cinema combined. In Italy, gaming has extraordinary potential: it is an industry worth 2.2 billion euros and is transforming from emerging realities into solid small and medium-sized businesses.
