There’s good news for League of Legends players at universities in the United States and Canada, who will be able to enjoy the best competitive experience of Riot Games‘ games in a college environment – registration for the 2024 College LOL Season is now open!
The official League of Legends competition for the collegiate public returns with a new edition in which excitement and fun are guaranteed, as well as fantastic prizes!

Similar to the 2023 CLOL season, teams will be divided into four regional conferences (North, South, East and West) for the 2024 season. Teams from schools in partner athletic conferences will compete in their own regular season tournaments. After the Regular Season and Conference Playoffs conclude, the final bracket of 32 teams remaining will compete for the championship title in a live finals event, showcasing the top League of Legends collegiate talent in North America.
Scholarship prizes for the top 16 College Championship schools will be awarded directly to players and student staff.
Until November 30, all college players interested in competing in College LOL can create their teams and register to participate in a season that promises to be exhilarating.

Warming up for an exciting season
During the month of October, college players from the United States and Canada were able to test their competitive skills and showcase their talent with the 2023 CLOL Fall Warmup. More than 1,700 students from across North America, forming 250 teams from 172 schools, competed on Summoner’s Rift in this pre-season tournament
UNIVERSITY Esports NA had their first broadcast ever with the Shurima Division Finals of the CLOL Fall Warmup. The broadcast occurred on October 29, featuring University of Waterloo Gold and Spartan Esports.
University of Waterloo Gold, representing the University of Waterloo in Canada, was declared 2023 champions of the CLOL Fall Warmup in the final duel against Spartan Esports, from San Jose State University in the United States.
Merging university esports into a global project
College LOL and College VALORANT have taken a leap forward to enable college students in North America to combine their passion for esports with their academic and personal training. Starting with the 2023/24 season, official Riot Scholastic Association of America (RSAA) competitions in the college environment will be operated by UNIVERSITY Esports NA, which will also serve as broadcast partner of the RSAA.
With a presence in 26 countries in 4 continents, UNIVERSITY Esports is the largest inter-collegiate esports, gaming, technology, and education project on a global scale, involving more than 100,000 students from over 2,000 universities.
The goal of UNIVERSITY Esports is to provide social, competitive and educational activities that allow college students to take their first steps into esports, connecting with other players who share the same passion, representing their school in national competitions or developing valuable skills ready to work in the industry.
