We’re thrilled to bring the 2025 College Championship to NC State University in Raleigh in partnership with UNIVERSITY Esports NACaio Almeida, Senior Manager at Riot Games. «Our past experiences with the City of Raleigh, including the 2023 LCS Spring Finals, have been incredible, making it the perfect location to host another Riot esports event.”

The 2025 CLOL and CVAL Championship Grand Finals will be a great opportunity to look towards increased investment in student experiences, event promotion, and broadcast capabilities to enhance the visibility of collegiate esports. Furthermore, this will be the first time a Riot Collegiate event has collaborated directly with Visit Raleigh.

«It’s exciting to witness the continued interest by major esports event producers and game publishers in hosting their major esports events here in Greater Raleigh,» said Loren Gold, Executive Vice President of Visit Raleigh. “The 2025 North American Collegiate Championships that are being produced by UNIVERSITY Esports NA will be the largest game publisher supported esports event that we have hosted at NC State’s new Gaming and Esports Lab, and the second major esports event that Riot Games has entrusted Greater Raleigh to host.”

«NC State University is thrilled to be hosting the CLOL and CVAL finals, this provides our students with the networking and high impact learning opportunities needed to jumpstart their careers upon graduation. North Carolina is truly becoming the center of esports in North America and NC State will be ready to support all future initiatives,” Cody Elsen, Esports Director at NC State University.

For UNIVERSITY Esports, hosting the Grand Finals of the 2025 CLOL and CVAL Championships is a step in the direction of reconnecting face-to-face with university communities and sharing fun and vibrant memories with fans and players.

The Road to Grand Finals

After fierce competition in the conference regular season, schools across the regional and partner conferences are battling in the conference playoffs to determine who will compete in the College Championship.

The top teams from each conference will be placed into the modified double elimination College Championship bracket. The top seeded teams will begin in the upper bracket while the lower seeded teams will start their lower bracket journey. The College Championship bracket will start in the middle of April and continue until the live finals at the end of May. The top two teams for College League of Legends and VALORANT will advance to the Grand Finals and compete in-person at the live Championship.
